Thanks to the past week and the long holiday, I got another lesson in relationship, from my mentor, who had invited me over to his house, for us to discuss a new project of mine and how I was going to get the best out of it.
As was normal, we had finished the business of the day and you guessed right, the women in our lives became the next topic for discussion. Not that he was discussing his wife of 10 years with me, nothing like that. It was more like, he was asking me about Nelly and how soon, I would be making her my wife, after all, we are halfway into the year.
I had to quickly clear myself, as soon as the discussion vied in that direction. I was not the one holding off, Nelly is the culprit. She had got an offer to study for her Masters overseas and was travelling out soon. So, our entire wedding plans will recommence on her return, perhaps in another two years.
How, we will survive this long distance relationship, I don’t know, but I’m sure we can make it work. I think, I must have come across as though, I expected Nelly to do all the work, considering she was the one, traipsing halfway across the world to study for a Masters, because my mentor picked up on it and the talk started. I will share with you what I have learnt from him. We could all use some experience from a man, who has been married for ten year and is still proud to say, he will marry his wife again, if he had another opportunity.
